After a couple of days off we were ready for Morning Star Estate, not too far from home. Morning Star used to be a boys home and now is a winery, restaurant and hotel venue. It was quite a good set up with the bar and food stalls in a courtyard off to the side. Good apart from the fact that we were facing into the sun and it made it very hard to see the stage, especially when Shannon came on. The crowd were quite feral, a few drunk young people around. The girls were out of control when Shannon sang What About Me. He jumped from the stage and leant over the barrier encouraging everyone to sing along. Needless to say there was a great rush forward.
When Jimmy came on he had not been going for long when the power cut out. Luckily it was back on quickly but it did happen a second time a little later on. Of course Jimmy was saying it was Shannon’s pay back from Traralgon, Shannon had blamed him for that blackout!! And Shannon had to come check out the situation and have a laugh. Tonight Adam and Shannon both came out to sing Khe Sanh with Jimmy. Like Adam, Shannon is in awe of Jimmy and it shows. Adam maybe getting used to it but Shannon was beside himself, down on his knees, hero worshipping Jimmy. We had been waiting for this all tour, the three of them up there together - a great way to finish the show. I did enjoy the gig but I felt it lacked a little atmosphere and it would have to have been my least favourite of them all.
