Up early and headed off on the 3 our drive to Mulwala Ski Club for the next one. It was a hot sunny day up by the lake. It was a very small area for the concert and no chairs were allowed, there was only room for 70 chairs on a small area that jutted out into the water. So right from the word go we were squashed in with just enough room to sit and wait in the 40 degree heat. Felt sorry for Adam and Shannon, they copped the full brunt of the heat. Shannon had his shirt fully undone - no complaints there from the screaming girls!! In between his set and Jimmy’s there was bit of a water skiing show happening. Shannon got into his Aussie board shorts and joined in for a bit of a ski - great way to cool down. A couple of times during the day Macca and his team came to the front of the stage to hand out big cups of cold water, greatly appreciated by all, most was drunk but some was thrown over us from behind.
When Jimmy came on the crowd went nuts. It was the best gig of the tour and the funniest. It was a bit feral with a couple of fights that had Jimmy and the band watching on while security and Macca got it sorted out quickly. There was so much underwear thrown on stage - bras, knickers, jocks, tops and a dress. One girl had her dressed ripped off her by her drunk friends when she lifted her arms. Jimmy was laughing so much he couldn’t sing. It was so funny when Dario and Stuart were playing together and a pair of knickers went flying past them and they both were totally oblivious to it. They must have been engrossed in the song. All the guys had pieces of underwear hanging on their microphone stands. Someone threw a camera up and Jimmy stopped playing his guitar, caught it, took a photo of the crowd, threw it back and returned to playing his guitar. Dario joined in the windmill arms with Davey tonight, only one though. Those two have all the moves!!
It was a great night that ended with fireworks over the lake. When it was over no one could get out, they had forgotten to unlock the gates. Too funny!!
