January 22nd 2011 .... EUREKA STADIUM, BALLARAT - VIC

Next up on the tour was a trip down the highway to Ballarat, to the footy ground, Eureka Stadium. This a huge ground, which is used by the AFL and home to North Ballarat footy club, who manned the barbecue all day. It was a beautiful hot, sunny day, and a local act started the music off. Thirsty Merc played their set and I’ve got to say I’m starting to know the words to some of their songs. I am starting to find them a little tedious though, they don’t really vary their set at all. Noiseworks were a bit flat today I thought, kinda just went through the motions. They were good but something was a lacking. Jimmy didn’t have his best one either, must have been something in the water down there! Even Dario had trouble with his bass in the start to Resurrection Shuffle. Jackie extended his solo and Jimmy started clapping along while the problem was sorted. It is a very rare thing to see Dario having trouble. But he was soon sorted and into his solo. All Chisel songs were dedicated to Steve by Jimmy, “he may be gone but he will be forever with us”
This was my least favourite gig of the tour, not sure why. It was still a great gig though and I did enjoy it and had fun.
